Me, I felt as I had just got there from home after a cozy nap and enjoyed the last act as if it was the first: Blur. I did find my friends and they did need water. Then, the lights on Lana's stage went off and I saw that big, huge MASS of people leaving the place and was brave enough to go the opposite way. I remember having water bottles in my pockets just in case I managed to find my friends and they needed it (can't get more daddy than that). So I just sat down and did my best to enjoy both. Well, he opened with that song so I just said "thank you" and looked for a place I could resume recharging my strengths. Turned out that Beck was next so I decided to stay at least until he played "Devil's Haircut", my then favorite song of his. For moment I thought I should have stayed home.īut after a while I felt good enough to walk to the other stage and see what was about to take place. I cant remember, and rested my drained self.įestivals are for teens, I thought, and I was turning 32 that day. So I left, had some water, probably ate something. I was more dead than alive, could barely stand my feet on the ground. People in the audience started pushing to get closer. Once they finished, it was Lana's time to take the stage. When Lana went to the stage I had already seen Travis ("Why Does It Always Rain On Me", remember?) and several other acts (and I mean several). The sun was melting everything in its way, including my head. It was one of those festivals with more than one stage and it started early in the morning. I saw and heard them both at the same time. Just a little story I want to share with you. I can say I once was on a Lana Del Rey show and on a Beck show at the same time. Her voice sounds so beautiful in the first verse. I love this version! It's very different from the released version. It turned out great and It was a thrill to have The Weeknd and Lana singing together." We did a rewrite of it during the making of the album. The version that Rick Nowels talked about in an interview with Genius, "The original “Lust For Life” is a beautiful art song, it’s quite touching. I think this is the version that was recorded and ready to go before Lana changed her mind and wanted a happier album and invited guest rappers and duet partners to spice up the album and let Max Martin re-write the title track. The most exciting one is the original version/demo of Lust For Life.

Two very interesting demos/early versions leaked yesterday.
LANA DEL REY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE BEAUTIFUL PROBLEMS RAP GENIUS ARCHIVE
Can't wait for her archive releases to start in 20-30 years. She's such a productive songwriter much like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young in the 60's and 70's. It's one of the things that fascinated me about her from the start. The hundreds of early pre-Born To Die songs, demos, outtakes, alternate versions and whatever that keeps on leaking. One of the most exciting things with Lana Del Rey is her vast collection of unreleased songs and versions that can be found out there on the interwebs. This thread is for news, general discussions, recommendations, deeper discussions.
